Internships &
Volunteers
Internships with Rising Tide Educators (RTE) are fully remote, competency-based learning experiences designed to bridge the gap between academic preparation and professional practice in the field of disability support within higher education. Drawing on principles and theories in Educational Psychology each internship places participants within an authentic professional community — providing meaningful work, structured mentorship, and opportunities to develop deep domain expertise.
RTE interns engage in deliberate practice across core competencies, building the schema and metacognitive tools needed to become skilled, equity-minded practitioners. The program is structured to support self-regulated learning: interns set goals, monitor progress, and reflect on their development across the duration of their placement. Volunteer Opportunities
At Rising Tide Educators, we believe that every student with a disability deserves access to an excellent college experience — and building that future takes a village.
We're looking for volunteers who want to put their skills to work for something that matters. Whether your background is in fundraising, marketing, community engagement, or something else entirely, there's a place for you here. No two contributors look the same, and that's exactly how we like it.
The only requirement? A genuine commitment to educational equity and excellence for students with disabilities.
If you're ready to bring your expertise to an organization that's doing meaningful work, we'd love to hear from you. Reach out at connect@risingtideeducators.org.
